Idividuals approach me at pen shows and offer me advice as to which pens they think I should consider replicating. A high percentage of these persons have searched for a specific pen they have wanted to collect and have found that the pen they are seeking is simply not available. If they do find one, it is so rare that it will not fit into their collecting budget. Some time ago I had an individual telephone me from Italy. He was frustrated because he had located a full filigree Waterman's 58 in Cardinal Red. The pen was perfect in every way, but the asking price was $11,000 US. He wanted to know if I would make a replica for him. I did considerable research and found that I could purchase the 14kt gold and sterling silver tubing that would be correct for the project. I took a vintage 58 to the machine guage shop and had a set of taps and dies made. Now I am able to replicate this highly collectable pen, and offer a "likeness" of the originals at a fraction of their collectable price. The lever and lever box, nib, and pocket clip are made by my jewler. The section and feed I make in my shop. I can now offer this pen in a wide variety of materials. I can also do custom designed filigrees to go on my replicas. Take a look at the pictures below and let me know if you would be interested in one of these beauties.
